To successfully manage, track, and report progress with all mandated and discretionary programs, information technology solutions must be integrated, stable, and effective. The IT systems are critical in providing the data to ensure the federal/state/county has the proper evidence to establish and maintain practices in compliance with Constitutional requirements relating to the incarceration and supervision of offenders. This assessment will provide the executive office with a blueprint of the current state of the IT solutions and recommendations for improvements.

To complete a full assessment of this IT readiness, the Sabot’s Criminal Justice Services will:

  • Identify and analyze the existing and in-progress IT solutions and development efforts
    Review existing documentation and meet with identified staff to assess existing Criminal Justice federal/state/county IT solutions, the technical architecture of those solutions, their business use/effectiveness, and support structure.
  • Assess data integration levels internally and with outside agencies
    Document integration points between existing IT solutions and external solutions and define the integration levels from low-level/co-existing systems to high-level/tightly-coupled integration.
  • Conduct a gap analysis between the existing functionality and what is minimally needed based on the proposed business process flows including:
    • Probation/Post Release Parolee Supervision
    • Parole /Probation Revocation
    • Mental/Dental/Medical/Developmental/ADA Identification and Tracking Programs
    • Overall Implementation, documentation and litigation compliance reporting
  • Develop findings and recommendations
  • Address gaps in functionality between existing and needed solutions and recommend an implementation plan to fill those gaps within the federal/state/county’s timeframe and budget.
